Frankincense is an aromatic resin obtained from the trunk of the Boswellia tree. The tree typically grows in the dry, mountainous regions of the Arabian Peninsula, Africa and India. Frankincense has a very long history of use in religious rituals and as a traditional medicine. Known as the 'liquid gold’, it has been used for spiritual and medicinal purposes since ancient times.
