1930s Italian vintage URSUS N.1120 fine-point dip nib

1930s N1120 nib produced by URSUS in Italy. Made of alloy metal. Referred to as the "Crown Nib" due to the three metal creases in the middle section. The nib is very flexible, producing ink with light pressure. However, applying heavy pressure will result in a large ink outflow. With gentle writing and controlled hand pressure, it is possible to create strokes with significant variation in thickness. Suitable for English calligraphy. For Chinese writing, it is less recommended. Ink used in reference photos: Steadtler fountain pen ink (not shellac-based ink). Paper used: Double A copy paper. Differences between vintage and modern nibs: Thicker metal material, more intricate craftsmanship. Made from virgin metal (not plated), easy to start writing with and requires no prolonged breaking-in period. Stronger ink capacity, comparatively more durable. Key usage points: 1. No need to flame or scrub with a toothbrush before use. 2. Some nibs may have original horizontal or vertical scratches on the tip; these were made by the factory before shipment to ensure immediate use upon purchase and are not defects. 3. If the nib becomes oily, affecting ink adhesion or flow (e.g., from touching with hands or wax on paper), simply wash gently with soap, rinse, and dry before use. 4. Clean and dry the nib as soon as possible after use, and allow it to air dry before storing to prevent rust. 5. Minor rust on the pen body does not affect writing, but rust on the nib does. Vintage/antique nibs are out of production. All available items are new from collections, sold until stock lasts. Each item will be thoroughly inspected before shipping.
