Brass plated nautical oil lamp marked DHR Holland

Brass plated nautical oil lamp marked “DHR Holland,” standing for De Haan Rotterdam. The company De Haan Rotterdam B.V. was founded in 1922 in Rotterdam and remains active today as a manufacturer and supplier of nautical lighting and maritime accessories, particularly ship lamps and navigation-style fixtures. This lamp reflects classic nautical design, with a practical construction suited for stable oil burning, typical of maritime environments. It can be placed on a flat surface as well as be hung on a hook on a wall. Based on the mark and style, it is estimated to have been manufactured in the second half of the last century. The brass plated finish shows clear age and use, with plating wear, surface marks, and oxidation spots consistent with a used vintage condition.
