For this garment, its primary role is to gracefully complement the sleeves. Through pleating, it achieves a unique, artful disarray—a beauty akin to paper crumpled and then smoothed out, three-dimensional yet serene. The pleats on natural fabric are not permanent. They will soften with wear or washing. If you prefer the pleats as they are, simply wear them.
