Amethyst and iolite are set on both sides, and arabesque patterns are carved all around using traditional Japanese engraving techniques. Because 100% pure silver is not durable enough for jewelry, 925 silver is often used for jewelry. It's also notable that 925 silver as a base silver is rarely sold to the general public. Like brass, silver also darkens and yellows due to "sulfidation" caused by components in the air.
