YOJIRO KAKE, a Japanese designer, founded his eponymous brand in late 2012, co-managing it with Taiwanese designer Oka HuiYun Lin. Currently, physical retail points include the multi-brand boutiques Bjork Florence and La Gare 24 in Florence, Italy, and Boutique 51 in Cairo, Egypt. *Brand Style* Yojiro, with his affinity for gentlemen's tailoring, excels at applying these techniques to womenswear. Classic pieces such as shirts, jackets, and coats subtly reveal details and thoughtful touches derived from bespoke menswear. The brand embodies a spirit reminiscent of a child's dreams—vibrant, expansive, yet tinged with anxiety and uncertainty. Life itself is the inspiration; the emotional individuals around him continually spark new ideas when Yojiro confronts new designs. This process allows Yojiro, who is less adept at verbal expression, to convey his inner thoughts through his creations. *Yojiro Kake* Yojiro graduated from POLIMODA International Institute Fashion Design & Marketing in Italy in 2012, having studied Fashion Design. He previously studied and worked as a senior pattern maker and designer at YASUKO UEDA Technical College of Fashion in Japan. However, the profit-driven ready-to-wear industry did not resonate with Yojiro, leading him to pursue fashion design again at POLIMODA, with its distinct teaching and design philosophy. Encouraged and supported by Linda Loppa, the director of POLIMODA and a mentor to the Antwerp Six, Yojiro began developing his independent brand in the year of his graduation. *Oka HuiYun Lin* In 2013, Oka completed advanced studies in Fashion Styling at POLIMODA. She graduated from Shih Chien University with a degree in Industrial Design and a specialization in Shoe and Bag Design from the Textile Design College. She has previously worked in visual and bag design, as well as briefly in restaurant service and boutique retail. At the YOJIRO KAKE studio, she oversees brand identity, seasonal style direction, brand visual and auditory aesthetics, exhibition planning, and sales.
