<A unique beauty that brings you happiness>
The materials for this piece are selected from thousands of kimono fabrics, rich with auspicious patterns, that have been stored away. Each item is meticulously crafted by hand, imbued with the wish for the happiness of the person who holds it.
<A Japanese Gift>
We utilize kimono fabrics that have been stored away, honoring the local saying from Watari Town, Miyagi Prefecture, by elderly women: "Do not discard even a scrap of cloth that can wrap three adzuki beans." We create items that give form to the beauty and charm residing in small pieces of fabric. These are also cherished as gifts to accompany small tokens of appreciation or greetings.
<An Item to Adorn Your Back>
This hair accessory blends seamlessly with any attire, not just kimonos and yukatas. It allows the wearer to express their individuality. Beyond being a retro-modern hair accessory, it can also be used as an armband or a book band. It's a convenient item to have in your bag.
<A Symbol of Happiness: Auspicious Patterns>
These auspicious patterns, used as "symbols of happiness," are considered lucky. Understanding the meanings of Japanese patterns connects us to the profound depths of Japanese culture passed down through generations.
<Maple Leaf Pattern> "Skill and Artistry Improvement," "Love Fulfillment." This pattern was favored by samurai, as the shape of the leaves resembles a rooster's comb, symbolizing "conquering the world." It also carries a wish for love fulfillment, as the time when maple leaves turn color coincides with the deer's mating season.
<The Joy of Gazing, The Pleasure of Collecting>
The kimono fabrics with their auspicious patterns are items that bring a sense of happiness just by gazing at them. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Let's Contribute to Clothing Upcycling Together>
WATALIS has collected and remade over 12 tons of old kimono fabrics to date.
By choosing one of our pieces, kimono fabrics that have been sleeping in closets across the country find a new purpose. We are grateful for the customers who join us in expanding the cycle of upcycling.
We introduce our regional resource upcycling initiatives in a video.

<Notes on Purchase>
*As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique, with slight variations in size, shape, and pattern.
*On rare occasions, when we obtain high-quality kimono fabric, we may create multiple items from the same fabric. Please note that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
*Please understand that the color and texture may appear different from the actual product on your screen. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
*As the kimono fabrics used as materials are often used and unmarked, their exact composition cannot always be identified. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabrics, including washing, before remaking them. Please be aware that some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet, and handle them with care.
*As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us in case of a sell-out.
