**Large sizes are only available for home delivery.** Artist: Sophie Taeuber-Arp Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp is a central figure in many of the most important avant-garde movements of the past century. Her work has inspired artists and designers around the world. Born in Switzerland, Taeuber-Arp left home at 18 and went on to study textile design in Germany. Returning to Zurich in 1914, she taught in the applied arts department of a trade school and began producing non-representational works on paper, which often served as designs for her textiles, embroideries and even clothing. These works were influenced by her training in textile design and saw the beginning of a very diverse career. Throughout her life, Taeuber-Arp worked as a designer, teacher, puppet maker, architect, painter, interior designer, sculptor, performer, jewelry maker, illustrator, and magazine editor. Through her precise and playful work, she realizes her desire to "make what we have more beautiful." she has a unique style Working first in Switzerland and then in France, Taeuber-Arp developed her unique visual style during the First World War. While other artists reached abstraction through a progressive process of breaking down and simplifying figurative forms, she painted directly on the grid structure of textiles. This approach differed from other modernist artists working at the time. First, she developed a set of vertical-horizontal combinations. Created between 1916 and 1925, they all feature a grid structure and a carefully considered color scheme. This modular concept, inspired by textile structures, showcases the artist's creative process. This approach opened the way for further inventions, and she later experimented in textiles, jewelry, architecture, furniture, stained glass and painting. In the 1930s, Taueber-Arp began creating a series of works known as "Multispace Compositions" and "Schematic Compositions," which consisted of aligned circles, squares, rectangles, and crosses on white or black backgrounds. These elements retain a sense of movement and have been likened to moveable chess pieces in a game. Art critic and author Gabrielle Buffet-Picabia recalled that Taeuber-Arp compared her work to the popular game of bocce. She was one of the key figures in the Dada movement Switzerland remained neutral during World War I. Artists, writers and thinkers from all over Europe who wanted to escape conflict settled in Zurich. The city became a center of avant-garde art. Among them was fellow artist Hans (Jean) Arp, who would become Sophie Taeuber's lifelong partner. They married in 1922. One of the most radical movements that emerged as a result of the war was Dada. This group of artists, poets and performers challenged the rationalism and social conventions they believed led to war. Taeuber-Arp is a key member of the group and one of the few female artists. She embraced Dada's absurd, playful and radical approach. A photograph from the time shows her performing at the opening of the Dada Gallery in 1917, dancing with Hugo Ball, founder of the Dada movement, wearing avant-garde costumes and masks. From collages and watercolors to stage sets and abstract head sculptures, Taeuber-Arp's work from this period is considered iconic of the Dada period. In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Taeuber-Arp's focus turned to architecture and interior design. In 1926, she and Arp were invited to redesign a wing of the Aubette building in Strasbourg as a modernist entertainment complex. Given the scale of the project, they invited Dutch artist Theo van Doesburg to join them. Taeuber-Arp was solely responsible for the design concepts for the Five O'Clock Tea Room, Aubette Wine and Foyer Wine, while collaborating with Arp and van Doesburg on other elements. The dynamic abstract environments she creates immerse the viewer in geometric shapes and vibrant colors. Taeuber-Arp’s exploration of applied art and design extends beyond objects to living environments. The Café Committee brought her international acclaim. She joined several artists' organizations, including the abstract artist collective Cercle et Carré, edited and wrote for radical publications, and collaborated with artists Sonia Delaunay, Wassily Kandinsky, Le Corbusier and Piet Mondrian exhibited her work throughout Europe. In 1943, Taeuber-Arp tragically died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. She was 53 years old and one of the most successful and innovative artists of her time. After her death, her husband, Hans Arp, worked to promote her legacy, in part through posthumous "recreations" of her work. Her influence on design and art continues to this day. Title of work: Siena, Architecture Poster size: 75 x 100 cm Museum original poster The difference between whether there is Acrylic or not: 》 Acrylic= one more layer of protection = one more layer of reflection 》No Acrylic= less layer of protection = you can directly see the work with better texture I don’t know how to choose: (If there are children in the family, it is recommended to add Acrylic), (If there are adults in the family, you don’t need to use Acrylic) https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/06/22/37f09f78639e0445223ad276c14b9c6c.jpg **Three-dimensional mounting instructions:** Around the original painting, add a 5cm white border on one side, so that the painting hangs in space and has a space with the Acrylic in front. This is the most advanced mounting method, highlighting the layering and texture of the work, and increasing the size of the painting. example: https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/04/20/a53e1913ae37b050413cff2f21214a62.jpg https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/03/29/53b4984d3fee670f1b07a35c2cbb1347.jpg https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2023/07/11/4b853563c2267abe4f46e392cf820e6b.jpg https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/04/12/c6d34fbc231337ab8da27935ab4f31db.jpg https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/01/14/1134fa6cd7cfbb6ffc6c2529c9f80d92.jpg https://image-cdn-flare.qdm.cloud/q665027dd6a3a4/image/data/2022/01/14/1aa39bffc4d2ad4f72254a345e4e294e.jpg
