Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is upcycled and transformed into accessories with Kintsugi. The concept behind these creations is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, reimagining them into modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities. Kyo-yaki pottery fragments are accented with freshwater pearls. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer beautifully from every angle, adding a touch of refined elegance. The accompanying chain is made of allergy-friendly surgical stainless steel with 18K coating, making it resistant to tarnishing and gentle on the skin. The chain length is 40cm with an additional 5cm adjuster. This work utilizes a modern, simplified Kintsugi method. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this process uses adhesive for the main bonding.
