Working for 5-7 hours daily, weavers can advance only about 2.5 centimeters. The result is a fabric remarkably clean on both sides, with no visible stray threads. A Kani shawl of the smallest size, 70x200 cm, takes at least three months to complete. Once nearly lost for almost 50 years due to environmental factors and trade challenges, the Kani craft faced further decline in the age of mobile technology, with fewer willing to dedicate themselves to its intricate demands.
