Beginning in 2012, she developed the "Sound Portrait" series. Her works compose visual patterns using musical notes, presented through video installations that resemble discordant sheet music. When the timeline in the video interacts with parts of the figures in the image, complex clusters of notes generate noisy, unpleasant sounds. This creates illogical noise from the rules of musical notation, akin to political figures in power, where a seemingly structured system hides an unreasonable political ecology. Peggy KUO is also an artist who brings graphic scores into concert hall performances.
