What is the wood-firing process?** We mix American, Japanese, and Miaoli clays in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-shaping (no pottery wheel) to gradually form the piece. After basic shaping, we refine the lines of the greenware, then sand it before completing the initial form. Once loaded into the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200°C. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln flow between the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and fire mark interplay, the pieces require a week to cool before they reach their beautiful final state! What should discerning customers be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As each piece is purely handmade, it will bear the natural marks of the creation process. Minor variations and slight imperfections, such as a slightly uneven rim or minor production scratches, may occur due to the firing process. These are normal and do not affect usability.
