Wooden Bench Chair

Wooden bench chair is inspired by the Chinese word "發/fa" (to radiate or come about) and the structure of a bridge. The design integrates lines and symbolism from Chinese written language with Western geometry. This bench chair symbolizes good things happening everyday, as well as a bridge between design and lifestyle. The chair is made entirely from wood and coated with a coffee color, providing a comfortable and relaxing mood. Driven by the needs of your lifestyle, this piece can take on multiple functional forms, such as a bench for removing shoes, bedside stool, side table, TV stand. The height of the chair is set at 40 cm to allow for easy use by adults and children. The corners of the seat are rounded as an added safety feature. The 30 cm depth of the chair seat achieves a balance between providing ample room for sitting and minimal use of space in the chair’s proportions. The chair features a light-weight and space-saving design that allows for easy lifting and transport by all members of your family. We use a lot of Mortise-and-tenon and thickened wood in order to add strength and stability to the overall structure. The grooves in the seat are designed to visually give a soothing and stress-relieving appearance, and functionally provide a no-slip effect when used, and enhance the strength and storage capabilities of the shelf underneath.
