[Brand]: Germany Goebel Hummel [Origin]: Germany [Material]: Ceramic [Size]: Diameter 26cm 【Year】:1980 [Condition]: Well preserved/original boxed (box has traces of time) ✨✨Introduction to Hummel & Goebel✨✨ The founder of Hummel is Berta Hummel (original name) who was born on May 21, 1909 in Massing, Bavaria, Germany. She grew up in a well-to-do religious family. In this environment, she had a happy childhood and a love for nature. Berta Hummel showed her excellent artistic talent and brilliant performance in painting and drawing since she was a child. Her father wanted to be an engraver or woodcarver, so his father did everything he could to support her to study more. At the age of 18, in 1927, she went to Munich with her father to study art at the School of Applied Arts. In 1931, after witnessing the chaos and cruelty of the First World War, she resolutely joined the Siessen Abbey and became a nun in order to pursue a peaceful spiritual world. After two years of novitiate, she finally received her initiatory name of Maria Innocentai Hummel on August 22, 1933. Sister Maria created countless artistic activities with religious themes, and Sketching with children as the theme is her favorite. She focuses on observing children, and after in-depth understanding, she knows how to depict the characteristics of children. Therefore, her works can bring people unlimited fun. World War II When the outbreak broke out, in order to raise funds for the monastery, Sister Maria printed some of the paintings she painted in her spare time as postcards and sold them, with all the proceeds donated to the monastery. At that time, Fraz Goebel, the fourth generation successor of Goebel Porcelain Factory, was trying to develop a new series of ceramic sculptures. By chance, I saw the lively paintings painted by Sister Maria, and I was deeply attracted. So I proposed to the monastery a new idea of changing the two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional clay sculptures, and restricted half of the profits to be used for It was used to finance the monastery and build schools. In 1935, the first batch of Him porcelain dolls came out and received an unprecedented response! Although Sister Maria passed away on November 6, 1946, Hummel's hand-painted porcelain dolls are still produced in accordance with her creative spirit and rigorous requirements. There are more than 2,000 pieces of Sister Maria's paintings! We are developing one. Hummel's hand-painted porcelain dolls take about two years. From sculpture to painted expressions and gestures, all must be carefully studied by practitioners from the monastery and the KBA factory. With the approval of the monastery, Hummel's porcelain dolls are also hand-painted and colored. The requirements are rigorous. Each painter must study for 5 years in a vocational school set up by Hummel and pass the test before becoming a painter. In addition, each painter must learn more than 2,000 kinds of paintings based on Sister Maria's paintings. The color materials are selected from the color samples prepared by specially-trained personnel. Each coloring step is completed by hand. The most special thing about Hummel porcelain dolls is that the colors are rich in layers. This layering is made of The artist painted it one stroke at a time, so the collectors club was officially established in North America in 1976. So far, there are 500,000 members around the world! In addition, a total of five Hummel museums have been established in Europe and the United States, with complete collections of Hummel from all ages. porcelain doll
