About Arita ware
Arita ware comes from Saga Prefecture, the birthplace of Japan's first ceramic production. It was even popular in Europe in the 1650s, opening up the international vision of Japanese ceramics. Its greatest feature is its white and light texture, delicate like glass yet hard. The unprecedented ceramic performance is amazing, coupled with the gorgeous Japanese decorative design, it was deeply loved by European aristocrats at the time.
For 400 years, the tradition and innovation of Arita ware have created Japan's unique aesthetic consciousness. Since 2016, new attempts have begun to showcase the beauty of the combination of more modern and traditional techniques.
