I use this form to create pieces, experimenting with numerous glazes, where minerals and metal oxides melt in the kiln. Evaporation, melting, entropy transformation, reversible and irreversible, like the smelting that returns to the primal essence of the earth in flowing lava. Distilling pottery making and experimentation into the smallest units, these are test pieces, essences, and the small stones we often pass by. Ideal for gifting, personal use, purifying with incense, diffusing essential oils, or as a token of remembrance. A blessing of roundness outside and squareness within.
