Even though I already have many in my wardrobe, I still buy new ones every year! Since falling into the vintage rabbit hole, besides bags and small accessories, I also keep an eye out for scarves. This is because older styles are more timeless, and the prices are invariably much more affordable than modern pieces... However, it's unfortunate that finding a vintage scarf in good condition and with a good appearance is actually much harder than finding a bag! After all, textiles are more difficult to maintain in good condition than leather. Therefore, I can only acquire a few vintage scarves each year... It's lightweight with fine wool quality, not too thick, making it suitable for the weather in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Made in Italy, and it's reversible! Khaki x deep blue, usable on both sides. Cool tones are suitable for everyone, regardless of gender! The entire scarf features a full pattern of the Arc de Triomphe motif! It's a pre-owned item but in very good condition, with no particularly obvious flaws, only a slight sense of use. There are no noticeable snags, loose threads, or discoloration issues, nor any pilling. It comes with the original Celine tag. Most pre-owned items from the past were handmade, reflecting the warmth of craftsmanship before the prevalence of machines. The artisan skills of major brands are many times more meticulous than machines, with each step exquisitely crafted! However, today, most processes are mechanized and then assembled by hand. Machine production lacks the same level of detail. The most direct and visible comparison can be made by looking at the monogram patterns of recent brand revivals versus those of older vintage pieces. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is entirely different. If you love monograms, you should seek out pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older eras favored simpler, timeless, and enduring designs. Many current new styles are actually revivals of older models. However, new models are priced higher than older ones. As you grow older, you'll understand one thing: simplicity endures! The quality of raw materials in older models is even better than in new ones. This is mainly because the cost and availability of high-quality raw materials are high now, and brands back then had very high standards for their finished products. The hardware on many new models oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two of use, but this is rarely the case with older models. This is based on personal experience; the shop owner regrets not entering the vintage world earlier for many collections, as they are now impossible to find, or if found, are prohibitively expensive... Apply a small amount to genuine leather for cleaning and to enhance its luster. It's not necessary to apply it after every use; periodic application is sufficient. I usually take the opportunity to care for them when organizing my closet at the change of seasons (which makes each seasonal transition a major undertaking... |||).
