The history of traditional Chinese writing and calligraphy is rich not only due to its unique pictographic structure that can be traced back to the Neolithic period, but also in the use of brush and ink as a medium to express the beauty of the brushstroke that is deeply connected to the rhythmic variations of our body and mind. This workshop introduces the art of traditional Chinese Calligraphy who have no experience or beginner level in Chinese Calligraphy. You will be introduced to calligraphy tools, learn the basic skills of calligraphic brushstrokes and appreciate the aesthetic structure of traditional Chinese characters. During the workshop, we will introduce the history of traditional ink and brush handcraft in Taiwan. Through this course, you will be able to write traditional Chinese calligraphy characters and discover the different forms of calligraphy styles. This calligraphy workshop is located at the heart of Yongkang Street, which is home to the famous traditional Taiwanese Tea Culture.
