Collector's item, extremely rare!
💎 Light beige lace-like spliced yarn, adorned with dreamy, delicate beadwork, exuding understated luxury and elegance. Exquisite details worthy of collection.
While Kashmiri scarves from Northern India may appear vibrant at first glance with motifs like paisley and rich embroidery or beadwork, they transform subtly when worn. The patterns become more subdued, leaving an impression of color blocks and fragmented beauty, with intricate details to be savored. We often simulate how the scarves look when draped or rolled into a ball to help you visualize the final appearance.
🐑 Kashmiri boiled wool crafts are made from 100% wool and offer a certain degree of warmth. They are primarily categorized into three thicknesses: sheer gauze (interwoven), triple-layer gauze, and regular boiled wool. The "sheer gauze" style is the lightest, suitable for all seasons, offering sun protection and styling in spring and summer, and practical elegance in Taiwanese winters. "Triple-layer gauze" is composed of three layers of wool yarn, making the center thicker and the edges light and flowing, creating a dreamy effect. The center's thickness is comparable to regular boiled wool, appearing light yet providing ample warmth, ideal for spring, autumn, and winter, instantly adding a touch of fresh, exotic charm. The "regular" boiled wool scarves are thick and warm throughout, perfect for those who feel the cold easily, providing warmth like a little sun in winter and during cold snaps. They also serve as cozy sofa blankets in winter. The vibrant colors pair beautifully with snowy landscapes for fashionable photoshoots.
★ A warm scarf by your side, in the car, or at the office, provides warmth against winter winds and air conditioning in summer, making it a practical temperature regulator and an essential travel companion. This unique handmade shawl/scarf is not just about warmth; it ensures you are the most eye-catching protagonist in any photo.
Kashmiri wool is a gift from nature, crafted with the master's meticulous hand and heart.
The gentlest scarf, the warmest blessing.
Choose the most precious and warm gift for yourself and your dearest friends.
Collection/Wearing and Care Instructions:
★ Each unique handmade wool artwork is crafted by artisans, and each piece is one-of-a-kind.
★ Handmade wool products may exhibit slight imperfections characteristic of handcrafting, unlike machine-made items that are uniform. Minor thread deviations or slight color variations may occur. (If significant and clearly visible, they will be specifically noted. If you are particularly concerned about handmade aesthetics, please purchase with caution. If you are new to handmade textiles, feel free to message us for details on specific items.)
★ Wool products should not be machine washed. Dry cleaning once a season is recommended. If hand washing is necessary, use a wool-specific detergent or shampoo, gently washing separately (darker dyed items may bleed color). After air-drying, low-temperature ironing with a towel underneath is acceptable (avoid direct sunlight).
★ The items we select are of a delicate, artistic handmade quality, especially cashmere products, which require gentle handling. Fingernails, jewelry, bag hardware, zippers, and Velcro can easily snag the yarn, so handle with care. While cashmere is lighter and softer, wool products are generally more resistant to friction. We select virgin wool and lamb's wool or use boiled wool techniques, which are softer and more skin-friendly than regular wool. We personally find them not to be noticeably itchy, but if you are particularly sensitive, we will indicate it. If you are very concerned about itchiness, please message us.
★ Each item comes with an eco-friendly, minimalist kraft paper box, suitable for gifting to loved ones.
Fairy Star Selects - Northern Indian Kashmiri Wool Handmade Scarves/Shawls
Boiled Wool Scarf /
Due to the high altitude of the Kashmiri plateau and its lower boiling point, a unique boiled wool technique has been developed. Through repeated boiling and drying, the wool becomes fluffier and softer, feeling more skin-friendly than regular wool products. The layered yarn is thick and soft, providing excellent wind resistance. It's complemented by meticulously color-matched hand-embroidered yarn for exquisite detail (can be worn on both sides; one side may have a different color or a lighter shade. The reverse side may have a few handmade yarn knots. If you don't mind, both sides can be worn).
Traditional Kani Craft /
Kani is a classical Indian weaving art (not printing). Traditionally, artisans used wooden shuttles to weave motifs like vines, flowers, paisley, and maple leaves, with each piece taking several months to complete. More common today is machine weaving, which requires time-consuming hand-trimming of weft threads on the back, leaving a textured effect reminiscent of Impressionist paintings. Some people also enjoy wearing the reverse side.
Hand Embroidery /
The embroidery thread on the entire shawl is meticulously hand-stitched, line by line. Unlike machine weaving, it may not be perfectly aligned or flat but possesses the charm of fine handcraftsmanship. It is filled with delicate, beautiful details, featuring vibrant vines or the paisley motif, symbolizing eternity and royalty, evoking a romantic Bohemian garden feel.
Kalenkali Hand Block Print & Embroidery /
This combines India's renowned block printing technique with hand embroidery. The intricate and beautiful printed patterns adorn the entire shawl, with embroidery outlining the motifs in various thread colors. The coordinated piano border at the bottom also showcases the Kani charm. This offers a glimpse into the rich details of two traditional crafts, making it a collectible piece.
