This year, I want to reimagine "Chinese New Year" in a more relaxed and whimsical way, breaking free from the usual red and gold aesthetic.
For the main visual, I've chosen—
the rocking horse we eagerly awaited at the clinic as children.
Visiting the doctor used to be a bit scary,
but the thought of playing on the rocking horse
brought a flicker of anticipation.
This feeling, a mix of nervousness and excitement,
mirrors how we approach each new year—
setting new aspirations for ourselves,
while also worrying if we'll fall short.
So this year, I've paired it with playful homophone blessings:
🐎 Give ㄨㄛˇ Money (Gěi wǒ mǎ nī)
Wishing everyone in the new year the financial means to support their dreams, not necessarily abundance, but enough to fuel aspirations. 💭
🐴 Horse Continues (Mǎ shàng lián lián)
Hoping for a smooth and prosperous new year, where good things unfold continuously, and even amidst challenges, we can navigate them with wit and grace.
