<<About Jadeite>>
Sourced from Myanmar, "Type A" jadeite in the market refers to stones that are entirely natural, with no artificial processing, resin filling, or dyeing.
This is distinctly different from high-quality imitations! (smiles)
What makes jadeite so captivating are its translucent clarity, the flow of its color, and its unique shapes, ensuring each piece is one-of-a-kind. The better the clarity and color, the higher the price, with even slight variations significantly impacting its value.
Distinguishing genuine jadeite by eye alone is challenging. Certificates from reputable gemological laboratories typically cost $1000-$2000, making it crucial to choose your seller wisely. ^^
<<About Gold-Filled>>
What's the difference between 10K, 14K, 18K, and 24K gold?
<It's about the gold content.>
24K signifies a gold content of 99.95%.
18K signifies a gold content of 75.00%.
14K signifies a gold content of 58.50%.
10K signifies a gold content of 41.70%.
Why is it rare to see 24K pure gold rings on the market?
While 24K gold jewelry has the highest gold content, value, and a deep color, it's relatively difficult to maintain. Compared to other karats, it scratches easily during wear and is so soft it can deform. Generally, this level of gold content is reserved for very high-value fine jewelry. However, pure gold jewelry isn't entirely absent; it's typically worn only on special occasions, such as during traditional Chinese weddings, though most people store it in a safe after the event.
18K Gold
18K, compared to 14K and 10K, has the highest gold content and is commonly used in mid-to-high-end jewelry. International luxury brands also largely utilize this grade of material. Although 18K gold is the most expensive among these options, it is also relatively resistant to losing its luster, fading, and causing allergic reactions. Pure gold and pure silver are softer, making it easier for gemstones to fall out when set. Therefore, higher-priced gemstones are typically set in 18K gold mountings.
