This is an SDGs-conscious Kintsugi jewelry piece, upcycled from ceramics by Fukukikama, a renowned Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki kiln based in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. We give new life to broken or chipped ceramic pieces that are no longer in use, applying Kintsugi to transform them into beautiful accessories. Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing wearers to feel closer to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, while exploring new possibilities. We've paired elegant ceramic fragments, hand-painted with delicate designs, with freshwater pearls. The sides of the ceramic pieces are adorned with Kintsugi, showcasing a subtle gleam of gold from every angle and adding a touch of refined elegance. These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
