On cooler days, a teacup can be inverted to serve as a lid, gently steeping the tea. Unlike common teapots with handles, this piece features wings on either side of the body, designed to resemble soaring wings. This allows for nimble pouring without the risk of scalding your hands. After the ceramic artist has controlled the fundamental parameters, the growth of the crystal glaze on each piece is unpredictable. This is the beauty bestowed by nature. The dazzling crystal glaze is a mastery achieved by Teacher Yeh, who has dedicated decades to glaze research. To fire such exquisite crystal tea ware, one must precisely control the interplay of fire, earth, and glaze, ensuring every detail of the texture and the overall ambiance of the vessel is perfected. The crystal glazes vary in color, each unique and beautiful. Crystal formations can be large or small and are categorized in numerous ways, including dotted, chrysanthemum-shaped, radial, splash-like, star-shaped, needle-like, and feathery, among countless others. Crystal glazed vessels have been highly coveted by scholars and literati since ancient times. In antiquity, due to many uncontrollable factors, generations of potters exhausted their ingenuity and poured their heart and soul into creating a single, perfect piece of crystal glaze pottery. Today, advancements in technology have brought many variables in crystal glaze firing under control. Nevertheless, it remains an extremely challenging and difficult type of work to master. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this creation is also designed for practicality.
