As the fifth design of the rock glass, I made it with the intention of making a rock glass version of the iceberg tumbler on the previously made ball cloisonne.
The theme of Gyokushippo is a design made with "simple", "original" and "cheap" in mind.
If you stick to the work, the number of cuts will be large and the design will look beautiful, but the price will be reasonable.
At our workshop, we are too particular about the design and there are few products that are simple and low in price, so the design we made is the ball cloisonne.
It's simple, but I think it has a nice design with elegance.
The degree of perfection of the design is not inferior to the work with many cuts.
The cloisonne, which is the base, shows how the circles are connected infinitely.
It is an auspicious pattern that has the meaning of the importance of harmony (ring) between people with a peaceful relationship so that the relationship between people will continue forever.
It also expresses the seven treasures of "gold, silver, crystal, lapis lazuli, agate, coral, and shako" described in Buddhism, indicating that all treasures are at hand. ..
In other words, it has the meaning of having wealth, prosperity, and becoming wealthy.
A round ball (tama) and a ball (gyoku) were placed in the center of the cloisonne.
"Tama" has the meaning of "a very important thing" in addition to the meaning of a sphere. Thrones, kings, gyokuro, etc. are all attached to mean "very important things".
The ball is frosted and finished in a frosted glass shape by erasing.
Since the ball cloisonne is our original design, a little originality is added to the simplicity.
Due to the simple design of the sides, the whole glass gives a dark impression, so to balance it, the bottom is roughly cut into 16 equal parts that extend to the deeper large sides.
Recognizing the shape of a rough iceberg that erodes the thick sea, we named it the "iceberg bottom" and used it as one of the foundations of future designs.
At our workshop, we use the traditional method of "hand polishing", in which the cut surfaces are carefully polished one by one, instead of "acid polishing", which melts the entire glass into pieces.
The mountain part where the glass is cut does not melt and does not become round, and the edge remains firmly, so it is also a point that it is comfortable to the touch.
I think that you can enjoy the edge of the bold cut at the bottom of the iceberg to the maximum by hand polishing.
That is also unique to our workshop.
The price is also the cheapest among rock glasses.
Please consider it for yourself, gifts, retirement gifts, etc.
The Kiriko of our workshop is polished using the traditional method of Edo Kiriko, "hand polishing", which maintains the strength of the glass and finishes it with high quality.
On the other hand, there are some things in the world that polish the glass while immersing it in an acid called "acid polishing" and melting the entire glass into pieces.
Acid-polished ones have the disadvantages of being easily scratched and the color may fade, but since the man-hours can be reduced and the price can be sold at a low price, sales will improve, so many workshops and writers perform acid-polishing. We are here.
Since the cut surface of our workshop is polished one by one, the original strength of the glass is not lost, and you can wash it with a detergent or scrubbing brush.
Please note that boiling water, microwave ovens and dishwashers cannot be used like any other glassware.
The handling method is explained in detail on the homepage of the workshop.
