Originally established in Rhode Island by Russian Jewish immigrants Michael and Joseph Chernow as Monocraft Products Co., they initially specialized in creating monogram charms for handbags before venturing into jewelry production in 1929. The Monet brand first appeared in 1937. Beyond its distinctive vintage aesthetic, several revolutionary patented jewelry structural innovations contributed to its immense popularity. Furthermore, their proprietary plating technique ensured a flawless metal surface, explaining why the plating on Monet pieces remains exceptionally well-preserved.
