This rice bowl was made using this earthenware, which possesses a rustic texture reminiscent of raw earth, lending it a profound character. The upper half of the bowl is adorned with a brushed pattern using white slip, and the entire piece is finished with a simple transparent glaze. Its simple texture and ambiance, akin to whole wheat biscuits, make it a wonderful pairing for mixed grain rice or rice dishes with added ingredients. All stages, from kneading the clay to forming, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. Due to the nature of the clay, this rice bowl is slightly heavier than others. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. This can sometimes lead to colors seeping into crazed glaze lines or moisture appearing on the surface. Therefore, we generally apply a water-sealing treatment to all ceramic pieces before they are sent to you. Ceramic ware that has undergone water sealing treatment does not require pre-soaking at home. After arrival, a light wash is all that is needed before use. Items that have already been treated will be shipped within 3 days.
