Bracelet with Emerald Blue Roman Glass, Antique Bohemian Beads, Ethnic Brass, and Excavated Beads

This bracelet is crafted by connecting emerald blue Roman glass, antique Bohemian beads, ethnic brass, and excavated beads. The slender, bird-shaped, and irregular-shaped beads are Roman glass, dating back to the Roman Empire (27 BCE - 395 CE). The tubular beads, originally part of bangles, have a slight curve. Due to their age, minor chips are present but do not affect everyday wear. The clear, oval beads are early 20th-century Bohemian beads. While they show signs of age, these imperfections contribute to their wonderful character. (Bohemian bead size: 0.8cm width, 0.7cm height) The whitish disc-shaped beads are excavated beads. These silvered beads from Djenné, Mali, were originally light blue, but some areas are covered with patina. The partially silvered sections are beautiful and deeply evocative. These beads date to around the 14th century. The tiny, granular beads are brass beads made by the Benin people of Africa, featuring incredibly intricate craftsmanship. A touch of verdigris adds to their cool aesthetic. The swirled beads are ethnic brass beads from Africa. The three barrel-shaped brass beads were part of a strand that once held Carnelian beads from the Shan people. The small emerald blue beads and slightly larger barrel-shaped beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads, with origins tracing back to the 2nd century BCE. These particular beads are excavated artifacts from Indonesia, dating to around the 10th century – over 1000 years old! A single faceted Apatite bead has been included.
