Lather up well, making sure to cover every area of your hands and scrub for 20 seconds! How does soap fight viruses and bacteria? Cold processed soap bars, such as the ones we make at SOLIDU, have a higher pH. That's why they're naturally antibacterial: Bacteria can't reproduce at pH levels above 9. The best way to prevent the spread of the virus is to wash your hands. After washing your hands with soap, the pH of your hands will increase significantly. This breaks down the fatty acid outer layer of the virus, allowing it to dissolve, break apart and eventually be washed away. Frequent hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is recommended.
