**【FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE】** I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. — Psalm 139:14 When I was seven months pregnant with my daughter, I was struggling with the conflicting treatments for thalassemia and iron-deficiency anemia. I had little appetite and could barely keep food down. I felt unwell every day while caring for my energetic firstborn, and my emotions were constantly up and down. Seeing the chaos in the world only made me worry more about my daughter’s future. One afternoon, I cried out to God: “My body is clearly not made for pregnancy! I already need iron infusions, and now I’m having allergic reactions. I’ve asked so many doctors, but no one has an answer. What am I supposed to do?” God brought a verse to mind: “I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” And He said to me: “I made you. I know your body.” Then I asked, “What about my baby? I’m worried she isn’t getting enough nutrients. I’m afraid my emotions will affect her, or that she’ll inherit my complicated anemia. And even more than that, I’m afraid of bringing her into a world I’m not even sure about myself. In a generation like this, are we only bringing children into the world to suffer?” God gently answered: “I made her, and I delight in her.” I cried even harder, but my heart was filled with peace. There is so much I do not know. Will my anemia improve? How is my baby growing? What will tomorrow bring? Yet the God who created me reminded me that His sovereignty has never changed. He made me, and He knows my body. He made my daughter, and He delights in her. None of us are here by accident. Every life is formed by His mighty hands, unfathomable wisdom, and unfailing love. So, Lord, I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The words that brought me the greatest peace were: “I made her, and I delight in her.” If God delights in this child, then as her mother, I can rest too.
