These earrings are crafted by connecting sodablue iridescent Roman glass, intricately carved brass, and lush stone beads. Roman glass dates back to the Roman Empire (27 BCE – 395 CE). These pieces are fragments of ancient vessels, polished and drilled. Iridescence occurs when glass is buried underground for extended periods, causing a chemical reaction between the glass and soil components, resulting in this sparkling sheen. Not all glass buried for long durations develops iridescence; this phenomenon only appears when specific conditions align. Both beads exhibit beautiful iridescence. Minor chips are present on both glass pieces. The glass itself is a sodablue hue. The iridescent sparkle emerges depending on how light strikes it.
