Ink Blots: Uncovering the Secret Journal Album

The venue catalog is often the only souvenir that can be taken away from many exhibitions, and it is also an extension of the exhibition experience. In "Unfolding the Scrolls and Revealing the Secrets", many of the exhibits are framed in the form of scrolls, giving the impression of "unfolding the scrolls". When designing the venue catalog, the team also focused on how to express the theme of the exhibition through binding: we used calligraphy albums (scripture folds) as the starting point, hoping to create a venue catalog album with a reading level. When readers open the album, they will first read "Curator's Notes", followed by "Exhibition Introduction" and "Schedule". Then you can see the names of four teachers printed on the page, with uneven bookmarks. The double-door design brings hierarchy to reading, making the bilingual side-by-side biographical information more clear. Then there is the "Exhibition Floor Plan", which subdivides the first floor of V54 into 9 exhibition areas, each representing different themes. The back of the album concludes with acknowledgments and workplace affiliations.
