Ink Strokes: Unfolding the Scrolls: Secrets Revealed Catalog Booklet

Exhibition catalogs are often the only souvenir attendees can take home, serving as an extension of the exhibition experience. In "Unfolding the Scrolls: Secrets Revealed," many exhibits are mounted as scrolls, evoking a strong sense of "unfolding" or "unfurling." When designing the catalog, the team focused on how the binding and presentation could reflect the exhibition's theme. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Chinese accordion-fold book format, we aimed to create a catalog with distinct layers of reading. Upon opening the booklet, readers will first encounter the "Curator's Note," followed by the "Exhibition Introduction" and "Schedule." Further within, a bookmark printed with the names of the four artists is presented with uneven edges. This dual-page opening design enhances the reading experience, making the bilingual biographical information appear clearer. Following this is the "Exhibition Map," which divides the first floor of V54 into nine exhibition areas, each representing a different theme. The back of the booklet concludes with acknowledgments and participating units.
