In terms of "种地" (texture classification), our jadeite typically falls into the categories of glutinous, icy-glutinous, icy, and icy-glass. For "水头" (water content/translucency), I prefer pieces that are well-polished, smooth, lustrous, and exhibit "起光" (light reflection). Thus, for icy jadeite, I select those with good translucency, brightness, a gelatinous feel, or a distinct rigidity that allows for light play. The saying "a fraction of color difference can mean a tenfold price difference" also applies to texture. For equally translucent material, the presence of light reflection can significantly impact the price. My requirements for texture and translucency are even stricter than for color.
