Brass Care Instructions: Brass has always been a popular material for jewelry due to its affordability and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass is prone to oxidation. Exposure to rain, sweat, and air can deepen its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, to prevent it, pay attention to the following: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ When not wearing, store in a resealable zipper bag. If the luster appears dull, here are a few simple methods to restore your item's original radiance. Please note that if the surface is scratched, while the color can be restored, the original shine may not be fully recovered (the matte, antique bronze look of vintage pieces is also beautiful!). ♦ Dip a toothbrush in a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder and brush gently, as if brushing your teeth, to restore brass's luster. Be sure to dry thoroughly after cleaning. ♦ Use a silver polishing cloth for quick restoration of shine (not applicable to brushed surfaces). ♦ Dilute lemon juice, immerse the brass accessory for about 5 minutes, and it will quickly regain its shine (not suitable for natural beads like pearls that are sensitive to acid).
