These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics by Fukukikama, a kiln based in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for its Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware. We reuse broken or chipped ceramic pieces that are no longer in use, applying Kintsugi to transform them into accessories. Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, thereby fostering new possibilities. We've paired elegant fragments, a blend of soft gray and white, with freshwater pearls. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the ceramic pieces, so the gold beautifully accents the profile, adding a touch of sophistication. These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
