Theme: 『Elegy』 A heart that wishes to sink. Words that want to be hidden. A wind that brings tears. Away from the sun, I am in the shadows. Gazing at the air where beautiful dust motes dance in the faint light, I feel a form. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー The theme for the first collection of the OTUTUMI online shop is "Elegy." It gives form to the "now" that the designer feels. Everyone, to some extent, keeps buried feelings of sadness or pity without speaking to anyone. This inner world is expressed through "Elegy" (meaning a sad song, lament, or dirge in Japanese). In Japan, black *mizuhiki* cords are typically used for mourning ceremonies and are not seen at celebratory occasions. However, this time, we have deliberately used only black, crafting the pieces to be perceived not by "color," but by "light" and "shadow." Though large, they are very lightweight. The motif is inspired by colorless stained glass.
