The Making Process The creation of our ceramic incense holders begins with carefully kneading the clay to ensure a uniform texture, followed by portioning the clay according to the desired weight. After shaping and adjusting the height, the pieces undergo approximately three hours of natural air-drying. Once dry, the artisans hand-paint the pieces using natural mineral pigments, applying 4 to 5 coats to achieve the ideal saturation of color. They are then fired in a kiln, allowing the colors to fuse with the clay. The final crucial step involves a traditional smoking technique using mango leaves, followed by another two-hour firing in the kiln. This process not only imparts a unique hue and aroma to the pottery but also serves as a tribute to nature and tradition.
