They are exceptionally comfortable and easy to wear. A relaxed elastic waistband is included, adjustable with a drawstring. The waistband has both elastic and a channel for the drawstring, making replacement simple. (Having both elastic and a drawstring is convenient, as elastic alone can feel restrictive, and drawstring alone might cause the pants to slip down if loosened too much.)
