Rattan and bamboo weaving have long been a prevalent medium and distinctive local feature in Taiwan, particularly among the indigenous communities. This time, Sayfike introduces bamboo and rattan woven bags, embarking from the collection and processing of materials. This endeavor carries forward the Taiwanese ethos of respecting the land and promoting sustainability by minimizing carbon emissions. Drawing inspiration from the hunter's backpacks and straps traditionally used by the aboriginal people, the studio expands upon the weaving and knitting techniques, transforming them into contemporary weaving tools. Sayfike's commitment to reviving natural materials in our living spaces is reflected in the creation of woven baskets and bags. Noteworthy for their durability and reusability, these pieces embody her dedication and hard work, rekindling ancient wisdom within people modern lives.
