A bracelet strung with old blue mandarin beads, Mizoram carnelian, gold-red white hearts, white beads & turquoise green chevron, and old Indian silver charms, among other elements. The vibrant blue beads were crafted in China between the 1920s and 1930s. They share characteristics with traditional Japanese beads, possessing a lustrous and beautiful shape! There are minor scratches. (Mandarin bead size: 0.85cm width, 0.95cm diameter) The orange beads are Mizoram carnelian, heirlooms from around the 18th century, originating from Mizoram in eastern India. Their color variations lend them a wonderfully expressive quality! The deep red beads are antique "white heart" beads, named for their white core. These are from Venice, dating to the 19th-20th centuries. The deep red hue is achieved by infusing the glass with gold, making them rare "gold-red white hearts." The visible lines are not cracks but air bubbles from the manufacturing process. The charm on the clasp is antique Indian silver, created between the 19th and early 20th centuries. With wear, it is expected to develop a unique patina. The figure depicted in the center is likely the monkey god Hanuman. (Size: 1.6cm height, 1.3cm width - including the ring) The dull golden beads are old Orissa brass, rare metal beads from Orissa, India. The plump, pot-shaped silver beads sandwiching the blue mandarin beads and Mizoram carnelian, as well as the round top near the clasp, are exceptionally rare old Chin silver. These heirlooms from around the 18th-19th centuries originate from Burma. Used by Chin women in necklaces and other adornments, they bear a distinctive wear and endearing marks. Their substantial feel and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though modern pieces can also be stylish...). These antique beads have seen a significant price increase in recent years. The beads with turquoise green stripes are chevron beads. "Chevron" in English refers to a "mountain shape" (in Italian, Rosetta). These are considered the "nobility" of beads, holding significant value and meaning. These are smaller examples of chevron beads. Turquoise blue chevron beads like these are particularly rare and difficult to find! The white beads are antique Venetian beads (19th-20th centuries). These were made in Venice and later found their way to Myanmar, becoming cherished heirlooms. They possess a beautiful, aged patina and a wonderful atmosphere!
