Residing in Taiwan, they work from a cozy apartment in Taipei, fully immersed in the world of stamp making. Formerly a magazine and book editor for a publishing house, Chamil is now a full-time stamp designer. They release handcrafted original stamps each season and have published eight art collections, featuring over 100 unique stamps. Their published books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Using rubber erasers as the primary material, each stamp is meticulously carved, stroke by stroke. Chamil's stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday observations, travel experiences, and cherished interests, blending elements like text, flora, geometric shapes, nature, and architecture. These are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing multi-layered lines and dots, minimalist primary and secondary lines, and foreign text, often incorporating personal symbols and notations to form the stamp imagery. Chamil enjoys pairing stamps and colors, orchestrating solo or collaborative performances among stamps of varying sizes, and embracing repetition. Many graphic designs originate from fragments of stamp art, extended through the creative process of stamping and combination, leading to designs for items like postcards and washi tape.
