Native to central Taiwan, Taiwanese Mugwort possesses a captivating natural fragrance. Mugwort was historically used primarily for weaving sleeping mats, hence its nickname "Xi Cao." It is highly absorbent, breathable, and smooth against the skin, offering a cool sensation upon touch. With continued use, it develops a beautiful sheen over time, embodying the essence of a well-lived life. Taiwan boasts nearly three hundred years of Mugwort weaving culture. Each item is meticulously handcrafted by local grandmothers and aunts, imbued with the spirit of Taiwan. **|| Mugwort Weaving Process ||** Growth | Takes 3-4 months to grow Drying | After harvesting, sun-dried for approximately 2-4 months until completely dry Trimming | Harvested reeds are sorted by length, and some tips are removed Selection | Reeds are chosen for uniform thickness before weaving Removing Leaf Sheaths | Leafy parts at the base of the reed are removed Beating | The structure of the reed is broken down to make it soft and pliable for weaving For more intricate items, two additional steps are involved: "Splitting" (dividing the triangular Mugwort reeds into two to three finer strands) and "Rubbing" (kneading to remove the white fibers from within the reed). **|| A Little Story About Taiwanese Mugwort ||** Grandmothers and mothers used to tell stories about how people would nurture their reeds. They particularly loved the "black gold" sheen of Mugwort, which typically developed with time and use. However, some people wanting to accelerate this transformation would specifically wipe the reeds with tea water to deepen their color. **| Returns and Exchanges** Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by experienced artisans with focused dedication. In the case of significant defects, please ensure the product and its packaging are intact, with all tags still attached, and the item is in new condition (free from signs of human use, malfunction, damage, scratches, dirt, odor, moisture, or washing), complete (including all accessories, attachments, gifts, and internal/external packaging).
