It has an amorphous structure and no definite external shape, as opals lack fixed crystalline forms and ordered distribution. The phenomenon of parallel layering formed by the co-deposition of matrix rock and opal is exceptionally rare. In natural light (or diffused light), it exhibits more of a rocky matrix appearance with less pronounced spectral flashes.
