[What is Botanical Dyeing?] Botanical dyeing is a technique that extracts dyes from plants such as flowers, leaves, roots, stems, trees, bark, and fruits. A natural adhesive derived from protein is evenly applied to the fabric, followed by the addition of a small amount of chemical dye. This process enhances colorfastness (resistance to fading from light, sweat, and washing, and stabilization of pigment) without the need for a mordant, resulting in beautiful natural colors on the fabric. Natural dyes are not composed of a single element like chemical dyes.
