A Rare Variant Native to Taiwan Milletia pulchra Kurz. var. microphylla Dunn Occasionally found at the edge of low mountain forests on the Hengchun Peninsula. Young leaves in spring exhibit an autumnal green hue, while the butterfly-shaped flowers range from light blue-purple to purplish-red. Often mistaken for Wisteria due to its robust vining nature. Blooms 3-4 times a year, with peak flowering in spring and autumn. Rarer than Wisteria, its flower racemes are more distinctive, making it an easily flowered tree species. A deciduous vine with extremely slow growth. Similar to Shumidori moss, it is a rare and hard-to-find tree. Over 15 years old, with exposed roots and a windswept appearance. A unique, elegantly shaped specimen with an unparalleled form. The thickest of its four main roots measures 1.3 cm. An Yixing purple clay circular pot from an old collector's stock, held for over 25 years. Planted in a shallow container to accentuate the tree's mature and aged posture.
