The residents of the local community work together to maintain the cleanliness of beaches and rivers, not only creating employment opportunities, but also using the recovered waste to develop a series of environmentally friendly products, hoping to ultimately save the marine ecology and enhance people's environmental awareness. Environmental policy The product is made of recycled rubber and is the most commonly worn flip-flop in summer. In order to collect these rubbers, special recycling windows have been arranged in cities and beaches. This can prevent the discarded plastic trash from being poisoned by the ocean, creatures, and even humans! The goal is to be able to recycle 400,000 pairs of slippers every year! Recycling center A recycling center has been set up in the community to systematically recycle wastes such as glass, plastic, clothing, iron and aluminum cans. Workshop -Even if the recycled products are not used as products, they will still be used for other purposes, such as the floor of a children's playground with waste. -Collect rainwater and recycle it in the production process. -Because the products are all handmade, only simple tools are used, and the energy consumption of the process is very low. -The animal series are made of recycled rubber instead of wood. -Purchase some rubber scraps from the shoe factory for recycling and reuse. -Purchase some recycled paper beads, glass beads and Bronze from local suppliers who also respond to the concept of environmental protection. Producer Our producers are women from remote coastal areas, where unemployment rates are generally very high. Our project started in the Kiwayu area. Since 1997, these women have been able to have stable job opportunities and no longer have to fear unemployment. We created jobs and raised social awareness in some impoverished areas, such as the slums of Kibera, Ngong and Mombasa areas. People can get income by helping us recycle waste. 40 full-time Kenyan producers work from Monday to Friday and teach them many different production skills. We provide the benefits of maternity leave and paternity leave to the producers. We have 21-26 days of sick leave a year and subsidize the medical expenses of the producers. At the same time, we also provide free lunch. Community -Through lectures and activities to promote the advantages and importance of recycling to school children. -Educate the community through the activities of visiting workshops.
