Sake cups have a slightly open mouth (top open), so when placed on a table you tend to look at them from above, and when drinking, your eyes naturally go to the bottom. With all that in mind, we decided to create a design that would accentuate the beauty of the bottom. This is an original diamond bottom made in our workshop, which has been slightly adjusted to make the diamond look better when viewed from above. Although the shape does not replicate a true brilliant cut diamond, I think it does a good job of expressing the beautiful sparkle that you get when looking at a diamond. Since the bottom is original, the sides have been cut with a traditional yari-rai shape. In contrast to the bold cut at the bottom, the yagura is cut rather thin. In addition, we have placed an even thinner yari between the yari, creating a double yari design. The double yagura has been finished to look like frosted glass to create an accent.
