Several of Celine's recent reissued collections bear a strong resemblance to this vintage piece. The new models feature a large embossed logo created through mechanical pressing, while this vintage version boasts discreet stitching. Crucially, the vintage model is crafted from exceptionally soft lambskin or supple cowhide – genuine top-grain leather! In contrast, modern versions utilize stiff, chrome-tanned cowhide. The tactile difference alone is incomparable; the vintage piece offers a truly comfortable feel!
The shop owner has a peculiar quirk (perhaps a touch of collector's obsession...), developing an inexplicable fascination with certain series and styles, leading to an almost compulsive desire to collect them... This particular series is one that has captivated me. The subtle stitching creates a prominent large logo, complemented by a zippered camera bag design and a gold chain! It's eye-catching yet understated, low-key yet extraordinary! Most vintage pieces are like this – each style is unique, making the chance of a "bag twin" virtually zero. I've kept one of these camera bags for myself; it's incredibly practical! I've even used it for travel – it's versatile, lightweight, and perfectly sized. The leather is remarkably durable; I carried it continuously for six days on a trip, even tossing it around at scenic spots, and it remained completely free of scratches or peeling! This alone is enough reason for me to cherish it – a "tough companion" that can accompany me on any adventure!
I believe a chain bag is an essential item in every woman's wardrobe, regardless of age. I personally own more than one... because they are suitable for both formal occasions and casual dates. The visual impact of a leather shoulder bag versus a chain bag is distinctly different. Even with the same bag, switching to a chain strap elevates the overall aesthetic, making a chain bag a must-have! Moreover, chain bags are incredibly versatile. For formal dinners or upscale gatherings, pairing it with a simple solid-colored dress and wearing it as an underarm bag exudes elegance. Don't mistake chain bags for being solely for "fancy" occasions; they look equally stylish in everyday wear. Paired with slim-fit trousers, they create a naturally chic vibe. My most frequent combination is cropped jeans with a tank top or tee – simple, stylish, comfortable, and effortlessly cool! It can be sweet, elegant, or edgy! The capacity is surprisingly generous, easily accommodating daily essentials. It fits a large smartphone, long/medium/short wallets, keys, cardholders, tissues, and sanitizing products. The chain can be worn single-shoulder, crossbody, or tucked under the arm (by folding the chain) – three versatile ways to style it, all of which look great. Celine is now part of the LVMH group, so their new collections often have a unified, group-driven aesthetic. There's a "street rumor" that everyone who buys pre-owned bags must have a Celine in their collection, precisely because their vintage pieces are so numerous and rarely duplicated. (I personally feel new models simply cannot compare to vintage ones due to significant differences in craftsmanship and material quality. Complaints about the declining quality of new items from major brands are easily found online...)

⚐⚑˒˒ This bag is in excellent condition, almost like new! The color is a versatile, classic black. It's lightweight, easy to use, and has a decent capacity! The front and back of the bag show no obvious signs of wear, no deep scratches or scuffs. There are absolutely no signs of peeling or damage. The leather exhibits very fine micro-scratches, only visible upon close inspection. The base, corners, and edges are free from any noticeable scratches or wear, remaining in perfect condition. The leather has a natural sheen. Most importantly, the discreetly stitched large logo shows no signs of unraveling or loose threads. The logo is very prominent yet subtly understated due to the black stitching. The interior leather lining is clean, with only minor signs of use, no peeling or stickiness. The interior zipper functions correctly. The brand tag is intact. The original shoulder strap was missing when acquired, but a long black strap of the same style as the original has been added, allowing for single-shoulder or crossbody wear. A gold chain (random style) is also included, with adjustable length. Wearing it with the gold chain is truly stunning. Overall, the condition is excellent, with only minor, inconspicuous signs of wear. I have a personal fondness for the stitched large logo series; I even kept a similar camera bag for myself! It's understated, beautiful, and unique! This series is generally not inexpensive in Japan, but this one is priced well due to the absence of the original strap. Rest assured, I've included a shoulder strap and a gold chain, offering even more styling options than the original!

The primary reason I love pre-owned bags is that the materials from older eras are vastly superior to those used in modern new items. In the past, most pre-owned items were meticulously handcrafted; there was no mass production, only the warmth of human touch. The craftsmanship of artisans was far more refined than any machine, much like how everyone appreciates handmade creations! Today, the vast majority of processes are mechanized with minimal human assembly, losing the exquisite detail of the past. The simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the intricate details of vintage monogram patterns with those of modern reissues. The level of detail is entirely different. If you love monograms, seek out pre-owned pieces – truly!
In terms of style, older designs were generally more simple, timeless, and enduring. Many new designs today are actually reissues of older styles. However, new models are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or altered aesthetics, often resulting in a final product that is more complex (or perhaps peculiar...) than its predecessors. As we mature, we realize that simplicity endures! As we age, our clothing choices often revert to basic styles because the most fundamental pieces are the most versatile.
The quality of materials in older pieces is superior to newer ones. Anyone knowledgeable about leather can see that the materials used in new items are often of a lower grade than vintage ones. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality materials is now prohibitively high, and their availability is scarcer than before – Earth's resources are dwindling! Furthermore, brands back then did not have the ubiquitous presence they do now; their clientele typically had a certain income level and high expectations for their purchases. There was no "fast fashion" culture; a bag was expected to last for many years.
The hardware clearly distinguishes between new and old eras. Many new bags' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two, but vintage pieces rarely do. Besides the use of premium materials and meticulous techniques, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with genuine 14k gold! It's worth noting that Chanel vintage bags are expensive for a reason; many of their clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold merchants! This is why the hardware on many vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, if well-preserved, still gleams today. In contrast, none of the new models I'm familiar with contain K gold in their hardware, making them prone to oxidation.
Many say that buying vintage bags is a form of alternative investment, as they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because the number of well-preserved pre-owned bags on the market is steadily decreasing. Remember, each of these is a discontinued item; the number that exists is all there will ever be, meaning they will become increasingly scarce, more expensive, and harder to find. Furthermore, brands periodically increase their prices, which in turn drives up the prices in the pre-owned market. If a brand releases a "reissue," vintage reference pieces or similar styles will see a sharp price increase! Add to this the recent trend of Japanese and Korean celebrities using vintage items; once a particular style is seen on a celebrity, its price can skyrocket – literally, it soars! During such periods, many people frantically search for that specific model or a similar alternative, causing prices for those items to multiply... Therefore, vintage is truly about enjoying it early; buying later means paying more (this isn't an advertisement slogan... it's a truth in the pre-owned world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not acquiring certain series earlier, and now they are either impossible to find or available only at exorbitant prices... But even knowing the price is astronomical, one is compelled to buy, as waiting will only lead to higher prices (unless the condition is poor).
I'm often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I'll include a small note with detailed care instructions inside the bag, so don't worry. My personal routine is to give my bags a polish when I organize my closet at the change of seasons (making seasonal tidying quite an undertaking... |||). Pre-owned bags aren't particularly high-maintenance; getting started just requires getting accustomed to regular care and cherishing your bag. Once it becomes a habit, it's not difficult. The materials in pre-owned bags are inherently excellent. As long as they are not used roughly and are stored properly, they can easily last another decade and be passed down to your daughter! Every pre-owned bag I collect is one I genuinely love, and I hope you will too, and that it will be preserved for years to come ☪︎ *.。☾︎.*·̩͙ If you're interested in purchasing, please message me for details. Feel free to ask anything; pre-owned items are sought by discerning customers who appreciate their unique value ⸜❤︎⸝.
