About Woodblock Printing At isica-organic, we create patterns on fabric using woodblock printing. Woodblock printing is a rare printing method today due to the significant time and effort it requires. First, motifs are hand-carved, one by one. Carving a single block can take anywhere from one week to a month, a patient endeavor. However, the charm lies in the ability to freely alter the combination of patterns and colors, allowing for the creation of an infinite variety of motifs through this manual process. Furthermore, the subtle blurs and shifts that occur during the individual hand-stamping process lend a unique charm distinct from uniform industrial products. While we have experience with silk screening for many years, we now focus exclusively on woodblock printing for our creations. We use environmentally friendly water-based inks.
