What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in various proportions. The creation process involves hand-pinching (not a pottery wheel) to slowly form the piece. After basic shaping, the lines of the form are refined and then polished to complete the initial piece. Once placed in the kiln, the wood fire from natural longan wood and acacia wood burns continuously for five days and four nights. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash falls onto the works, forming a unique ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire mark textures. After five days and four nights of ash and fire patterns intertwining, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! What should our esteemed guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As works are entirely handmade, they will bear the traces of the making process. Minor variations may also occur during the firing process. Slight imperfections in the rim or small production scratches are normal and do not affect usability.
