The exquisite turquoise glaze, reminiscent of southern seas, boasts a radiant sheen and fine crackling. These elements are combined to create this leaf-shaped small dish. The tips of the dish are accented with a white glaze for a touch of contrast. The dish's gentle curves evoke the shape of a leaf or a droplet. Its vivid color and unique form serve as a charming accent to any table setting. Perfect for pickled vegetables, stir-fried burdock root, rolled omelets, cherry tomatoes, dressed dishes, simmered hijiki seaweed, and more. All stages of creation, from kneading the clay and shaping, to bisquing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously handcrafted in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, allowing you to enjoy the subtle charm that comes from handmade craftsmanship. To minimize any potential scratching of your table surfaces, the base of each dish has been carefully sanded smooth. I continuously explore new combinations of various glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form. Each piece is unique, resembling others but truly one-of-a-kind. To address this, we treat all our dishes with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (known as 'mejime'). This sealing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
